EVENING GIGS, SCREENINGS & PRESENTATIONS

Mano de Dios + Sam & the Womp + DJ Tofu (Global Local/Continental Drifts)

Wild-to-the core, spanglo-rumba-gypsy-swing band and winners of the 2012-13 LUKAS award, Mano de Dios, pump up the flamenco-blues amidst stage antics and musical virtuosity setting the scene for headliners, extrovert Balkan-mash-up and number one dance-music trio, Sam & The Womp, who inevitably drive the dance-floor into an electro-style whirling dirvish. DJ Tofu (Continental Drifts) updates the 'the charleston' and 'black-bottom' completing the night with 'get up and shake it' electro-swing.

Screenings - In addition to a mind-blowing plethora of artists and musicians, F.A.M.E, in line with its rEvolutionary agenda, will be screening a selection of rare films including shorts, feature films and documentaries on the environment, globalization, women, emancipation and social issues closer to home. We will also host a retrospective on British director PENNY WOOLCOCK including a screening of her latest ground-breaking documentary following the efforts of two rival gang leaders to bring peace to their neighbourhoods, ONE MILE AWAY.
