live: Snuffaluffagus (US)

Snuffaluffagus (US)

Snuffaluffagus is a musical endeavor created by songwriter Chris Braciszewski, an enthusiast of many musical tastes. Snuffaluffagus was born out of a home studio project and over the last couple of years has progressed into a collective of collaborating musicians that involve the likes of Japandi, Alex Kent , BoomSnake , and Brian Warren. Snuffy's first Gnome Records release of 2008 (Aminals EP) is a prelude to a folk fairy tale and is just one of many concepts that strive to promote childlike imaginative states. Snuffaluffagus' next album "Brazil Wood Poetry" is a collage and tribute to Brazil's Tropicalia era and will be available summer 2010 digitally via Wizard Spit.

live: WITT (US)

WITT (US)

WITT IS (in no order):
Jesse - Electric Guitar
Henry - Bass Guitar
Evan - Drums

"Witt is a rock n' roll outfit chalk-full with the best musicianists in the galaxy"
-Toby Maguire

"Witt is [really] the best band, ne'er has there been a [better] band than Witt"
-God

"I've seen Witt play, I've seen Witt play music some time."
-Mr. Witt

WITT is comprised of three fine young men from San Diego, California, USA. Their names are, in
order of appearance: Evan, Jesse, and Henry. They started playing music as WITT in August of
2007; an unseasonably cool August, as I recall. What began as innocent lunchtime jam sessions
rapidly ballooned into something much, much more dangerous/scary, and within weeks the three
boys (not yet men) were honing their already considerable live skills at San Diego's finest
DIY/vegan/freegan venues. In hushed whispers, word quickly spread of this unknown trio of
frighteningly skilled youths annihilating stages all over the greater SD area and leaving nothing but
puddles of melted face and the charred remains of lesser bands in their destructive wake. Have
you seen what a wicked prog groove in 19 (nineteen) can do to those unfortunate enough to find
themselves on the receiving end of said groove? The results are not pretty- take it from me.
Once established as 'major players' in the Sandy Eggo scene, the possibilities seemed endless
for our protagonists. Alas, nothing lasts forever- not even high school. With college looming on the
horizon, and the possibility that the members of WITT would each be flung to far separate corners
of the country seemed all but certain. In the end, Henry and Evan remained in California to study
music at CalArts, while Jesse left to learn about recorded music at New York University. For most
bands, this would be the end of the line. Not so for WITT! Harnessing the unlimited power of the
world wide web, WITT continues to collaborate as college freshmen and create new feel-good
jams to this day, and they would love to share them with you.
They are as follows:

"Whip"
This is the first full-length WITT record. 18 tracks, just under 50 minutes of runtime, and out of
those roughly 3,000 seconds of recorded sound there's not a single lazy or flat moment throughout. The music is whip-smart (no pun intended), with sharp changes in time and tempo
that demand the listener's attention. One is inclined to liken "Whip" to the math-y prog of Don Caballero, but to do so would be unfair to WITT, for these gentlemen have managed to craft a sound that is unmistakably their own. Of note: the album was recorded in a single 4 hour session at an unnamed 'friend's house'. No animals were harmed.

"There's Blood EP"
FIrst: say it out loud. "There's Blood EP" includes a pair of songs from "Whip" that get the full
rework treatment, along with a few entirely new sounds that have yet to be heard by ears that do
not belong to Henry or Jesse or Evan (in order of appearance), except for maybe some other
people. DO NOT MISS the collaboration with celebrated 'rap/hip-hop' MC Microphone Mike, the
results of which are sure to please members of all age groups and demographics, thus resulting
in a highly marketable/profitable 'brand'/band.
These records are scheduled for European release on June 7, 2010, so mark your calendars, if
you're that kind of person. I am.

live: Zentralheizung of Death des Todes

Zentralheizung of Death des Todes

legendary dressed-up trashy garage punk from wonderland thuringia

zentralheizung of death des todes
"ZENTRALHEIZUNG OF DEATH is a 4-head extra-terra-normal silicium unit with an unhealthy appetite for reverb-heavy guitars, quick-spreading fuzz, hyperactive light speed drumming, crackling toy sounds, theremins, and an (as they insist) 'straight-edge bass(wed prefer to call it a surfier Mudhoney). Hauled exclusively all the way from Erfurt's very own 'I Love Marbach Records` with only minor damage to machine and man - Ladiez and Gents, welcome the ZENTRALHEIZUNG OF DEATH to the Poo-Poo-Circus."
