Der Französische Künstler Robert Filliou erklärte 1963 den 17. Januar als Geburtstag der Kunst. Dieses Ereignis wird international mit verschiedenen Ausstellungen, Performances und Konzerten gefeiert, Als Mitglied der PD-Graz Gruppe komponierte Malte Steiner aka Elektronengehirn das Stück 'Geburt Der Kunst' in mehreren Sätzen mit der Open Source Software Pure Data

ramunas jaras is a lithuanian artist known for his inventive musical ventures and multi-stylistic stage productions. jaras is a performance artist, musician, and author. he has organized countless actions, both orchestrated and spontaneous. he is also known for his solo theatrical work as ENDICHE VIS.SAT.

jaras is recognized throughout europe as a performer and musician. and he is the author of a collection of short stories that was published in lithuania in 2008.

his solo theater work contains elements of black humor and man-orchestra-idness, numerous hand-made puppets, avante-garde costuming, and masks combined with musical performances ranging across the spectrum from classical to techno to experimental. on occasion these theatrical happenings are enhanced by dance elements and fireworks. Critics have described these works as "phenomenal hypno shows."

jaras is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who performs on various wind instruments, keyboards, and vocals. he has written music ranging from classical pieces to pop tunes and has worked in collaboration with several international music groups including krakow's 'karpaty magyczne'.

he scripts his performances. they are not improvised. while there can be elements of horror, it is "safe," there is no nudity or real blood being spilled.

ramunas jaras can stage solo theater performances even in minimal spaces. shows have been been staged in flats with great success.

born in 1979, jaras has been performing classical music on stage since childhood. in 1990 he launched his foray into performing experimental music with his first band. in 1993 he released his first recording, an experimental music album he titled "the last subterranean music" he began performing in europe in 1997.

jaras is a professional musician. he is the recipient of two degrees in music from the lithuanian academy of music and theater.

he has released twelve albums of music.

The piece Geburt Der Kunst (Birth Of Art) was composed 2010 for the birthday of art, which was declared by French artist Robert Filliou to be on the 17. January. ( http://www.artsbirthday.net ) The concert was performed at Esc Im Labor in Graz, Austria, conducted remotely via the internet from Steiners studio in Hamburg, Germany. The composition was created with Pure Data and separates the control from the synthesis part, both communicating via OSC. Steiner just sent controldata via the Internet, no streaming data. This concert performance happens on location without network.

Elektronengehirn is an electroacoustic project by Malte Steiner, founded in 1996. For soundcreation only software based synthesis and processing is used, Steiner started with CSound, custom software and soon Pure Data. So far this project released 2 CDs, a netlabel release and several contributions to compilations and collaborations. Steiner is involved in several open source projects, like the 'Minicomputer' synthesizer for Linux.

Neben seiner Medienkunst und anderen Musikprojekten wie z.B. Notstandskomitee betreibt Malte Steiner seit 1996 das Projekt Elektronengehirn. Als Klangerzeuger werden lediglich Computerprogramme wie z.B. die Open Source Software Csound und Pure Data verwendet, um deren neuartigen Klangmöglichkeiten zu erforschen. Gelegentlich setzt Steiner Echtzeit-Computergrafik Systeme auf Konzerten ein, wie z.B. bei dem Konzert für Datenhandschuh
