Women of the Seven Seas:
Women of the Seven Seas is a global group of female artists, researchers, activists and seafarers working with, at and around the sea and on questions of maritime life. The group has been initiated by geheimagentur and has one question in common: Will the growing number of women working at sea make a difference? Maritime patriarchy is no joke. It is a history of war, colonialism and exploitation of people and natural resources. Is there – finally – a feminist movement about to appear at sea to unite against all that? The answer is: not yet. But maybe soon.

Geheimagentur:
The Bank of Burning Money, the Alibi Agency, the Casino of Tricks, the Assembly of Real and Other Pirates, the Black Bank, Women of the Seven Seas – secret agency produces situations and institutions that appear to be fictional but then nonetheless withstand the test of reality. The performances of secret agency create another reality rather than confirming the old world in critical gestures. They open escape routes from austerity and take you on a trip with the improbability drive. secret agency creates forums for unheard voices and explores the pleasures of future togetherness. secret agency is working anonymously, transdisciplinarily and internationally. It was founded to use artistic means and resources beyond the accumulation of individual fame. secret agency is an independent label, an open collective and a practical exercise in the „art of being many“.

Fridays for Future Hamburg:
FFF, is a youth-led and -organised global climate strike movement that started in August 2018, when 15-year-old Greta Thunberg began a school strike for climate. They created the hashtag #FridaysForFuture, and encouraged other young people all over the world to join them. This marked the beginning of the global school strike for climate. Their call for action sparked an international awakening, with students and activists uniting around the globe to protest outside their local parliaments and city halls.

Grey Filastine & Nova Ruth share the Voyage of Arka Kinari

Artivism at Sea:

Filastine & Nova Share the Voyage of Arka Kinari
In a live documentary performance combining video, music and story, Nova Ruth & Grey Filastine share the voyage of Arka Kinari. Subversive, immersive and partially submerged, Arka Kinari is a 70-ton sailing ship transformed into a cultural platform to sound the alarm for the climate crisis.

Find out what happens when a rogue’s gallery of activists, makers and artists embark on a terrible idea for the best of reasons. Everything you imagined about the wildness of the sea will be confirmed... and then some. International borders will be proven fictions, until they suddenly become the hardest of facts when the pandemic traps Arka Kinari stateless at sea for months with a broken engine and shrinking supplies. Along the way you’ll find out what happens behind the fences of seedy ports from Morocco to Mexico, be hosted by Venezuelan soldiers on a barren rock, perform for indigenous communities on Panama’s disappearing islands, witness America’s bizarre nuclear legacy in the Pacific atolls, negotiate provisioning with heads of state, meet the Micronesian navigators preserving their ancient craft, be bashed by storms, scavenge supplies from shipwrecks, and be saved by a passing supertanker. You’ll also hear the challenges of being one of the few performing arts productions actually touring during the Covid crisis as the ship tours the Indonesian archipelago with help from such diverse quarters as government ministers, Islamic scholars, quarantine teams in haz-mat suits, and transgender shamans.

Artist's Bio:
Filastine & Nova are a multimedia duo working to undermine borders. Their music collides psychedelic trap beats with Javanese post-folk, musique concréte, analogue synths and acoustic instruments. National Public Radio calls them “powerfully political and distinctly global,” and Pitchfork says “they sound less like `world’ music and more like music from another world.” Another world is exactly what they aim to create, using sound, video, design, and dance to express a radically different vision of the possible.
Despite releasing a dozen critically-acclaimed albums, Filastine & Nova are foremost performing artists, Their live shows are where sound, image, and ideas are embodied. They’ve toured the five continents, appearing at festivals such as Sónar (ES), Downtown Cairo Arts (EG), Decibel (US), Les Vieilles Charrues (FR), Foreign Affairs (DE), Mona Foma (AU).

Many of Filastine & Nova’s projects defy category or commercialization, like their official mixtape for The Act of Killing documentary, Sound Swarm interventions at the COP climate change summits, a singular performance in the Calais Jungle migrant camp, a video clip staged inside an active coal mine. Their latest and greatest work takes the artists even further off the map; Arka Kinari is a 70-ton sailing ship that transforms into a floating performance that mixes myth, art and science to sound the alarm for climate change.
