Tremor Hex is feedbacking drone from Hamburg City. The duo combines Super 8 and Hi8 visuals with massive bass and guitar driven soundscapes to create an encompassing audiovisual experience. The focus is clearly anti-fascist and anti-nationalist.

Thisquietarmy & N have been labelmates on Midira Records, Consouling Sounds & Denovali Records and have crossed paths at live shows & festivals in Europe for more than 10 years! It was only a matter of time that they would finally find the right time to sit down and collaborate together.

In the summer of 2019, after an impromptu live set in Cologne, they setup at Topperhouse studio in Duisburg to record the unfaltering monsters 'Zerfall' & 'Zerfallen', alongside 'Zerstoeren', an additional coda to album featuring Tobias Stieler from Kokomo on drums & a fellowship of collaborators: Dirk Serries, Aidan Baker, SARRAM, The Star Pillow & Tom Malmendier. All this material was courageously released during the following pandemic years by Midira Records, spread out on 3 different formats (LP/CD/cassette) for each part of the album.

In November 2022, they will embark on a one-off German tour to perform their unique brand of minimal maximalism: expect massive drone doom ambient noise guitar fulminations in Bochum, Hamburg, Leipzig, Dresden & Berlin!

Albatre is a long-standing Rotterdam-based freejazz/noise/metal outfit consisting of two Portuguese musicians, Gonçalo Almeida and Hugo Costa, and one German, Philipp Ernsting.

Their music is a joyously harrowing display of urgent bass & sax noise, skewed jazz elements, frantic but meticulous drumming and abrupt moodshifts. Albatre can be seen as part of a burgeoning micro scene of artists highlighting the crossover of improv, noise rock and jazz currently made in Holland.

This potent alliance seems to channel two acute forms of dread: one is of the serpentine, pulsing-driven, piercing, and predatorily kind: heavy-hitting music that feels as if it’s constantly stalking you from behind. Then there’s the more freeform side of things: a cacophony of shotgun blasts, caterwauling saxophones and static-laden guitar effects: as if having a psychotic episode within an expanding black nothingness.

Definitely not for the faint-hearted, but in its primordial power, Albatre are quite the elegant, layered affair too: like a perfect killing machine designed by nature that demands your utmost reverence. Exploring the darkest corners of jazz, ambient and heavy music, Albatre’s latest creation The Fall Of The Damned takes inspiration as far afield as Ornette Coleman and Otomo Yoshihide’s band Ground Zero. At Roadburn, Albatre will extend their gnarly clamorous incantations to the visual plain, with the help of artist and “fourth band member” 5upleft.
