Team Plastique formed in 2001 and have been based in Berlin since 2004. They have performed all around Australia and Europe and supported Peaches and Chicks on Speed on their Australian tours. They also create art installations and happenings. They are proud of creating the world's largest pair of underpants in 2003 and also the entrance of Australia's largest outdoor Festival, The Big Day Out in 2004.

Team Plastique believes that too many bands take themselves seriously and are boring. Team Plastique's mission is to make sure they and the audience have fun and get very, very messy.

Team Plastique once organised a party called This is Not Ibiza in their hometown Brisbane, Australia. They told everyone that the party would feature real sand from Ibiza. Actually they stole it from the Golf Course next door. At the show the Team put the sand inside little dealer baggies and gave it to the audience, so they could take it home and sprinkle it in their beds and have sex on top of it and have a real Ibiza experience. The police found some of the bags and the Team was interrogated about what drugs they'd put in the sand.

Also a couple of months ago in Berlin the Team were maggots in an Art Gallery and rolled around in red jelly, but that's another story.
